4 Days by the Camino de Costa Rica
Prepare to live a great experience in the Camino de Costa Rica, where you will get to know part of the indigenous and Caribbean culture and the beauty of the flora and fauna that surrounds every corner of our country, with our package of 4 days and 3 nights that includes a whole adventure in boat, rafting and hiking
Day 1 View to the Pacuare Reserve
After your breakfast, we will pick you up early at your hotel in San Jose and then meet the Aventura staff (guide and driver). Then we drive along Route 10 from Turrialba to the Caribbean coast. We will make a brief stop in Siquirres to stock up on sandwiches and any last-minute item. Continue to Goshen Dock, where the boat will be waiting for us to take a walk through the channels to the Pacuare Reserve, where we will have lunch.
Our group lunch will be helping to maintain the conservation efforts for thousands of animal species, support numerous research projects and help the next generation of conservation leaders. After lunch, you will start the hike, El Camino de Costa Rica, on a trail within the Reserve. Your Reserve guide will help you spot numerous bird species, show you the turtle hatchery and describe many elements of the jungle. Then you will proceed to the beach so you touch the Caribbean Sea thus officially beginning your El Camino adventure. After a walk of 7 km we arrive at the North Station, where we will take a boat through the canals for about 15 minutes at arrive at our lodgings.

Lirio Lodge is an Eco Lodge with amenities such as shared bathroom, eco-bungalows with private bathroom and hot water, restaurant on the water, hammock area, canoes, gardens, peace, and nature. Lirio Lodge is 100% sustainable and environmentally friendly, so it uses electrical energy from solar panels.
Lirio Lodge. Chill for the afternoon, explore the grounds, take a canoe out onto the canal or take photos of the jungle because at 6 pm we will have an orientation talk and dinner.

Day 2 “Hike a Jameikari Indigenous Community”
After breakfast at the Lirio Lodge we take the boat through the canals of Barra Pacaure at sunrise, you will get some amazing photos on this ride. At Goshen dock your luggage goes in the sag wagon for transport to tonight’s lodgings, you will only need to carry a daypack. We transfer from Goshen to Indigenous Community Jameikari (40 minutes). This route will take us into Nairi Awari Indigenous Lands, you begin to see how the landscape changes with every step we take. We’ll also start to see mountain views during a hike that takes us to the edge of Barbilla National Park and the Jameikari Indigenous Community.
We arrive at Jameikari Indigenous Community (6km and can take 2 hours of hiking).
During our visit they will give us a talk to learn about the Cabecar culture from its flora, fauna and gastronomy, where we will prepare a lunch based on rice, beans, bananas, monk tail (a plant) and pork.
As part of the activities, they will teach us how to dance the Cusuco dance and tell us about their spiritual belief of the Sibú God.
This walk has a distance of 13 km a duration of 5 hours.

As a support to the community, they will sell handicrafts, in case someone wants to buy.
We arrive at the Jameikari Indigenous Reserve. (13 km and can take 2 hours walk one way and another 2 hours back).
When the trek ends, we move to our accommodation: Finca Tres Equis. Our host, Alfonso Pacheco, will have dinner here (with views of the Turrialba volcano) and have breakfast the next morning.

Day 3 “Rafting Pacuare River”
Get ready for the exhilaration!
Enjoy your breakfast and get ready for an exciting rafting day on the Pacuare River: one of the top five rafting rivers in the world. The Pacuare River is located on the Caribbean Slopes of Costa Rica. It is well known for being one of the best Whitewater rafting rivers in the world. Its rapids are potent, exhilaration and exciting for beginners and advanced. Lunch will be on the shore of the river (weather permitting). After a 6-hour rafting adventure we transfer to Pacuare Outdoor Center which is nestled in the Turrialba mountains near the river Pacaure .Enjoy dinner in the beautiful rustic dining room.

Day 4 “Hiking from Bajo de Pacuare to Pacayitas”
After breakfast at the Pacuare Outdoor Center, we will take a pick-up that will drop us off at the village of Bajo de Pacuare where we will make our last day of hiking, which we will take on a ballast rural road with beautiful views towards the mountains from Turrialba and the Barbilla National Park, passing through the town of Pacayitas and ending with a delicious lunch at Rita’s restaurant.
After lunch we will take our transport that will take us to the city of San José.
This Hiking has a length of 8 km and a duration of 3 hours, with a flat topography with short ascents and descents.
